At the San Pietro
Guided gardens visit
The gardens are one of the most interesting aspects of the San Pietro’s geography, not only for their layered terraces that are typical to the Amalfi Coast, but for their large production of organic produce that is used daily in our restaurants and bars, and the flowers used to decorate the halls and rooms. The Maitre’d will accompany you through the gardens along a scenic path that gradually descends to the sea, while describing the production and harvesting of seasonal vegetables interspersed with colourful anecdotes and curiosities. Please request this complimentary tour at Reception.
Winetasting
With a cellar of over 600 labels, wine is an important part of the San Pietro’s culture. From a theoretical introduction, to combinations, pairing and tasting, our sommeliers will guide you through a private wine tasting in the quiet setting of the Zass Restaurant. Aimed at experiencing the excellence and uniqueness of popular wine territories, our sommeliers offer a choice of 3 regional itineraries (Piedmont, Tuscany and Campania), or a personalized itinerary upon request. Please inquire at Reception for reservation and prices.
Mini Italian course
Learning to speak Italian in under an hour is possible at the San Pietro. In a simple and intuitive 4-lesson mini-course designed especially for our guests, you will learn how to introduce yourself, greet people correctly, order a drink at the bar, or ask for the time. For those who already have a good grasp of the language, lessons can be personalized and calibrated. The service is free and subject to availability.
Cocktail masterclass
Interested in learning the secrets behind the preparation of classic cocktails on the menu? Head bartender, Michelangelo, offers a popular cocktail Masterclass every afternoon at the bar L’Alcova. In this sophisticated setting, you will learn simple tricks of the trade for preparing distinctive and professional drinks, which you can then enjoy with snacks. Ask at Reception to reserve your seat at the bar. This service is complimentary to guests.

Titty Pecoraro is the most recent of the young ladies who recently joined the San Pietro front desk to graduate with a degree in Hospitality Management from the Federico II University of Napoli.
Vincenza Starita and Michela Ferrara finished the same degree the previous two years after completing their internship training at the San Pietro. We are so proud of all three and even more delighted that they have decided to continue to be part of the team for their future careers. Welcome to the HSP family!

Cyclists participating in the Two Volcano Sprint, a self-supported bicycle challenge starting and finishing at south Italy’s two iconic volcanoes, Mt. Vesuvio and Mt. Etna, rolled through San Pietro today. They were offered a well-earned breakfast spread after already climbing two mountains, Vesuvio and Faito, before 9:00 am.
The San Pietro is a proud sponsor of the annual event that raises funding for a project, initiative or service that positively impacts nature preservation, environmental sustainability, or climate action, while boosting economic growth for local communities in south Italy.

Il San Pietro vintage: colors change, but this view never. Nor does it ever get old. Who remembers the ISP terrace over the years? Some of our guests have been coming even before the hand painted majorca tiles turned the benches iconic.

Can you imagine working 50 years in one place? Antonino de Lucia hit his golden anniversary at the San Pietro this year, the first ever to do so. He started working in the kitchen caffetteria at 13 years old when his uncle, Salvatore, was the head chef and Carlino Cinque was still at the hotel helm. How many memories he must have accumulated and how many stories he could tell.
Chapeau Antonino! You have the greatest respect and gratitude of all your San Pietro family.
Riuscite ad immaginare di lavorare 50 anni in un solo posto? Antonino de Lucia ha raggiunto quest`anno il suo anniversario d`oro al San Pietro, il primo in assoluto. Ha iniziato a lavorare nella caffetteria a 13 anni, quando suo zio Salvatore era il capo cuoco e Carlino Cinque era al timone dell`hotel. Quanti ricordi e quante storie da raccontare.
